Some electronic combustion analyzers can print out the test results.  This can document that the appliance is operating per manufacturer's recommendations and can develop a history of how the equipment is operating from year to year. 

Developing this history may help with troubleshooting problems which may arise in the future and may also indicate that preventive maintenance is required and eliminate an inconvenient no heat situation.
