To vent or not to vent.....

This issue has, to say the least, been a very controversial.

On the one hand, the Vent-Free Products Alliance feels their members' products are perfectly safe.  On the other hand, several other groups feel strongly that there are concerns about using unvented appliances.

A good link which reviews the potential downside of unvented appliances can be found at The Chimney Sweep, Inc.

One thing we know for certain is that if an unvented appliance is not properly installed, maintained and used per manufacturer's instructions, there is a tremendous potential for carbon monoxide and indoor air quality problems.  This includes one of the most common unvented appliances, the gas fired kitchen range.
