Calibration procedure for the Fyrite Pro carbon monoxide sensor*
* This information is provided in addition to the manual included with the instrument and not to be considered all inclusive.

First off, do remember, only calibrate the CO sensor of any instrument in a well ventilated area!!!
Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas and while only a small amount of CO is used during the calibration procedure and quickly diluted by the ambient air, it is a toxic gas and exposure to even small amounts in a confined space can potentially ruin your entire day!!
If you are primarily performing flue gas testing, we suggest you calibrate your Fyrite Pro with 500 ppm calibration gas. If you are primarily doing ambient testing, you may wish to consider 100 ppm calibration gas. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
With the instrument in 'fresh air' and turned off, enter the calibration mode by pressing and holding the ENTER key.
Then press the I/O (on/off) key for one second. Release the I/O key, then release the ENTER key.
The display will illuminate all the segments, then display the model number, and software version.
Then the instrument will display the word 'CAL' and count down for 60 seconds.
Allow the instrument to sample fresh air for at least one minute.
After that period of time if the reading is not zero, use the SCROLL UP or SCROLL DOWN keys to adjust the display value to zero. In the above photo, the reading is a negative 2, you would scroll up until the reading is zero.
Set up the calibration kit as described in the manual with the long hose going to the regulator, one of the shorter hoses going to the flow meter and the other to combustion gas intake on the bottom of the instrument.
Set the bottom of the flow meter stand under the cylinder of gas to support it.

After the connections have been made, adjust the regulator on the cal gas cylinder so the flow meter reads approximately 2 SCFH. The valve on the regulator is turned clockwise to open, counter clockwise to close.
After the reading in the display has stabilized (2 to 3 minutes), use the SCROLL UP or SCROLL DOWN keys to adjust the displayed value to match the cylinders concentration (typically 500 ppm's).

Until reading matches value printed on cylinder |
Once the value in the display matches the cylinder, press ENTER to store the new calibration and move to the next calibration screen, or hold down the ENTER button for 2 seconds to store the new calibration values and enter the Run Mode, or press the I/O button to exit the Calibration Mode and turn OFF the analyzer without saving the changes.
